Fridays are “Live! Ginza” day. We’ll be covering events taking place in and around Ginza. Expect local insider recommendations and discoveries of hidden gems — something to look forward to each week!
Ginza Sky Walk
For our very first edition, we’d like to introduce Ginza Sky Walk. Plans are under way to transform the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway (KK Line) — a toll-free elevated road that runs around the heart of Ginza — into a public walkway in the future.
As a precursor to that, an event called “Ginza Sky Walk” is being held on 4 and 5 May, giving the public the chance to walk along the KK Line. Traffic will be halted and concerts and other events will take place over these two special days.
A variety of concerts and attractions are planned for Ginza Sky Walk. It’s a rare opportunity to walk along a stretch of elevated motorway that is ordinarily filled with traffic. Advance registration is required, and today — 7 April — is the deadline at 5:00 PM. If you’re interested, please apply quickly.
