In medicine — where life and livelihood are directly at stake — accurate and easily understood explanations tailored to each situation are essential. What greatly contributes to that accuracy and clarity is medical illustration: the visualisation of medical and healthcare information.
To create medical illustrations, one requires both the medical and anatomical knowledge to understand the structure of the human body and what needs to be communicated, and the illustrative skill to express it accurately.
On display here are works by Leon Sakuma — a legend among medical illustrators — and his student Yoru, who is active at the very forefront of the field.
