1. Ginza NFT Gallery
The Ginza NFT Gallery — a virtual gallery you can explore on your smartphone — opens on 26 April.
Ginza is our company's home base and a place deeply connected to us since our founding. While the area is famous for its galleries, those galleries tend to be cautious about new ventures. On the other hand, because we are actively exploring the combination of XPAND Code and NFTs, a gallery dedicated to NFT art — a new frontier — feels like a natural fit for us.
The Ginza NFT Gallery will be released as a mobile site linked to the Ginza Daifuku Jizo artwork installed in Ginza 8-chome. It will appear as a section of "ExploreGinza", which launches on 7 April.
2. Open Call for NFT Art
The Ginza NFT Gallery opened its submissions today, 3 April. Submissions will be accepted over four rounds between April and July. The first round will select up to 30 works; subsequent rounds will select up to 40 each. NFT COLOR, an organisation with an extensive track record in NFT art events, is kindly assisting with the administration of the open call.
3. Selection Categories
There are two selection categories. While the maximum number of accepted works differs, the combined total is 40 (30 for the first round).
- NFT COLOR PASS holders: up to 40 works per round (30 for the first round)
- General applicants (non-holders): up to 20 works per round (15 for the first round)
4. How to Apply and Entry Fees
Applications for the first two rounds are free of charge. From the third round onwards, the purchase of a participation pass NFT will be required.
5. Selection Criteria and Ginza Physical Exhibition (Planned)
Works that complement the atmosphere of Ginza and have broad international appeal will be prioritised in the selection process.
A physical exhibition at a Ginza gallery is planned for October, creating a new art space to enjoy both virtually and in person.
We look forward to receiving works from many talented artists at the Ginza NFT Gallery.
