Techsauce has closed. It was our first online exhibition, and there were several positive outcomes. Visitors to the booth were invisible to us, which meant chance encounters were virtually non-existent — but this is something that can be overcome through improvements to the UX of online exhibition platforms, and in our case we can genuinely say that being entirely online presented no real problems.
This time, the coordination provided by JETRO and the event staff was excellent, so it remains to be seen whether online exhibitions run by other organisations would go as smoothly. That said, if the shift towards online exhibitions continues even after COVID-19 recedes, it is likely to create more opportunities for smaller companies.
Even so, we would very much like to visit Bangkok in person next year.
