Here is the current status of XPAND Code installations across Japan.
Installations are concentrated in major urban areas, but XPAND Code is now present in all 47 prefectures, with over 2,000 locations. The majority are integrated into XPAND Linked products, typically deployed one to a few units at a time in restaurants, accommodation facilities, tourist attractions, medical institutions, and apartment buildings. Awareness remains limited, but installations at the unit level have begun in the three major convenience store chains and fast-food outlets such as McDonald's.
Beyond Japan, a small number of installations have also commenced in Germany, Indonesia, and China.
Note: locations using XPAND Gratis or the XPAND Linked Free Edition are not tracked and therefore not reflected in this map. Including those, the spread would be considerably wider.
